Ballymena United Maintain unbeaten run

Glenavon continued their unbeaten run in the Danske Bank Premiership with a 2-0 win over Ballymena United at Mourneview Park on Friday night.

The Lurgan Blues took the lead in the 14th minute as Conor McCloskey smashed in from the edge of the area.

Ballymena had some good chances to level before half-time on a night that saw Ballymena’s frustration grow with Glenavon keeper Rory Brown producing several solid saves.

Glenavon doubled their lead in the 64th minute as Peter Campbell’s header beat Jordan Williamson sent the home fans into raptures.

The result means that Glenavon are now up to third in the Danske Bank Premiership table, while Ballymena United are down to fifth.
