Concussion Concerns Abate

The Atlanta Braves had a sigh of relief on Monday when catcher Travis d'Arnaud was activated from the injured list after passing concussion tests.

d'Arnaud suffered a concussion in a collision at home plate on April 8th. He was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list on Sunday.

The Braves were cautious with the 35-year-old catcher, who has a history of concussions.

Thumb Injury Sidelines d'Arnaud

d'Arnaud's thumb injury occurred in the sixth inning of Saturday's game against the Miami Marlins.

He sustained the injury when he awkwardly bent his thumb while making a tag at the plate.

The Braves have not yet announced how long d'Arnaud is expected to be out.

d'Arnaud's Injury History

  • Four concussions in his career
  • Most recent concussion occurred on April 8th, 2023
  • Thumb injury sustained on April 29th, 2023

d'Arnaud's Return

d'Arnaud's return from the concussion injured list is a boost for the Braves.

He is a key member of the team's offense and defense.

The Braves are hoping that d'Arnaud's thumb injury is not serious and that he will be able to return to the lineup soon.
