Al-Hilal Defeats Inter Miami 4-3 in Riyadh Season Cup
Messi and Suárez Score for Inter Miami, but Al-Hilal Emerges Victorious
Al-Hilal secured a dramatic victory over Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the first match of the Riyadh Season Cup on Monday, January 29.
The Saudi Pro League club -- loaded with former European pros -- raced out to a 2-0 lead with a clinical finish from Aleksandar Mitrovic and a second goal by Abdullah.
Inter Miami fought back, with Michael Delgado scoring in the 44th minute before halftime. However, Al-Hilal extended its lead to 3-1 with a goal from Malcom in the 88th minute.
Despite a late goal from David Ruiz, Al-Hilal held on for a 4-3 victory. Luis Suárez scored the lone goal for Inter Miami in the 34th minute.
The match was a friendly, but it featured plenty of intensity and excitement. Both teams had chances to win, but Al-Hilal ultimately deserved the victory.
The Riyadh Season Cup is a three-team tournament that also includes Spanish club Real Madrid. The tournament is a chance for fans in Saudi Arabia to see some of the world's best players in action.
